The Innocent 7amodeh (حمودة البريء)

He's dared to do it again. He got me tagged. Who else except my hilarious friend Abu Fares can do that?

According to this innovative Tag, I should list 5 reasons why I wish I was 3 again… or young in general!
Well, since Time Travel is still not an option for cruisers, I am having to rely on my memories and imagination to re-live the virtual reality of 3 years old.

1- I miss "Sabadala" and "Haba habba" too much; those were mythical beasts that my parents kept threatening me with whenever I don't go to sleep early. One day, I ask my mother to give me a description of how this Sabadala looks like, and she did her best to frighten me with features like, long horns, sharp claws…etc... But in the back of my shrewd mind, I decided to visualize and befriend Sabadala later that night, so that he doesn't stand at my parents' side anymore! So it was, the fear factor was neutered, and from then on, I used to stay up late at night as I pleased!
2- I miss the Rwwad Al Talae3, those were simply contests for excellence and pioneering amongst elementary school kids in Syria; I was about to become the pioneer in chess, except for that SOB from Deir Al Zoor, who got me checked-mate using Napoleon III maneuver.

3- I would like to re-live the innocence of that age, although I wasn't so innocent, in fact, I was very mischievous. Alone, I was about to cause disasters at several occasions, not to mention the congregational vandalism, graffiti and conspiring I co-did with my fellow rowdy angels from the neighborhood.
4- However, I wasn't all about trouble at that age, I had a crush on science and physics; I remember watching "Min Al Alef Ila Al Ya'a" (from A to Z) and even at that very early age, I found this TV science magazine to be quite captivating. If there was a feeling called "Intellectual Orgasm" then I must have had it very early on in life.
5- I would like to be able to attend women weddings (yes we have them segregated in Aleppo) once again, I still have some warm memories and clips for hot chicks doing the belly dance, and as one of my mischievous buddies at that early age said: "ya 7amodeh, listen to me man, even though you can not do much with such snapshots now that you are a kid, take as much of them as you can in those weddings, keep the negatives, and later on in your life, you'll be able to develop them"….

And so it was!

يا عون الغريب , سلام عليك

"يبدأ هذا الدين غريباً و يعود غريباً فطوبى للغرباء...."

“This religion will start as a stranger, and is distend to become a stranger [toward the end of time], so blessed be the strangers”

"ويل للعرب من شر قد اقترب فتنا, كقطع الليل المظلم يصبح الرجل مؤمنا ويمسى كافرا, يبيع قوم دينهم بعرض من الدنيا , قليل المتمسك يومئذ بدينه كالقابض على الجمر..."

“Woes to the Arabs, from an evil which had come closer, in form of strives and confusions. Ambivalence will prevail, and people will switch from being believers to being disbelievers within the span of day and night. Folks will trade their religion [Islam] for things of a minimal mundane value. Very few will adhere to religion then, it is like holding a piece of ember in one’s palm…”

I am Back ... and 'Gradually' Recovering..

Dear friends and cyber mates,
Hope you are all alive and walking...

Yesterday, I had the gauze cut and the cast removed from my left foot...

I had heard that there should be a period of physio-therapy following a removal of a cast from the leg/feet, but Dr. Tawhidi didn't tell me anything , the only thing he was able to utter is : "you can walk gradually"... I bet you he spent some quality time in the past memorizing and practicing this magical phrase...

Most of feet injuries as far as I could observe at the emergency section are related to sprained ankles. They don't have a serious impact on the overall health of the body, but they are like any other minor defect or glitch in mechanics, a loose nut or a cut wire here or there can cause the deficiency of 140 ton crane.

I would like to seize the chance here to advice all my dear friends to be careful with their steps: have a good look at where you are stepping, be extra careful when you walk on an uneven surface or up or down the stairs, wear high boots (like the one worn by basketball champs) when you work out, and if you have to carry anything heavy down the stairs, try to walk your way down reversely ...etc...

You must by now be saying something like : we've had enough of your injury..... don't worry ... I've emptied my pocket for the time being...I just want to wrap up by responding to your comments:

Abu Fares ya Abu Fares!
Indeed, what was I thinking? ... of course I've learned my lessons and I can even teach it now (just look at the above grunting!)

My Wisconsin friend Ali!
I had a feeling that this post was going to rile you into commenting, alhamdulilah mate, it's not serious...
The TV is safe and sound, in fact, and as far as entertainment is concerned, my survival was dependant upon this TV last week when I didn't go to work...and guess what; it is the same TV (remember?;))
(btw, how are the Melwakee Bugs doing these days? ;))

Thank you very much Inmotion (how have you been doing?) I lead a stable and quiet life in general, but that doesn't mean that things don't go off the course with recklessness every now and then...

Hi Kaya,
The TV is okay, and the Khanoum played hard to get at the first time (as expected) I thought I'd be able to get her phone number yesterday, but she seemed like 20 years older... I found out later that there was another nurse on duty ... this one wouldn't play hard to get for sure, but the thought didn't cross my mind at the time!
Thank you for your kind words dear friend...

3azizi Gray Fox, where have you been ya zalameh?... you have been missed... I hope life is treating you well...
The pain is awful indeed, but what is more consoling is the fact that it'll be over soon, during these couple of weeks, I never stopped thinking about those who have to suffer this kind of pain for long times... God bless them.... Allah be with them...

Dear Lujayn,
I can relate to your experience quite well, it must have been painful... an airport with the old fashion stairs? broken xray machine in two hospitals? where could that be? it must be the place that you call home and which is not Syria...;)
The house warming party will take place after Ramadan, and you are of course invited!

Thank you all dear friends, and now excuse me, I have to dodge my way out of this internet cafe on the crutches...
