Dear friends and cyber mates,
Hope you are all alive and walking...
Yesterday, I had the gauze cut and the cast removed from my left foot...
I had heard that there should be a period of physio-therapy following a removal of a cast from the leg/feet, but Dr. Tawhidi didn't tell me anything , the only thing he was able to utter is : "you can walk gradually"... I bet you he spent some quality time in the past memorizing and practicing this magical phrase...
Most of feet injuries as far as I could observe at the emergency section are related to sprained ankles. They don't have a serious impact on the overall health of the body, but they are like any other minor defect or glitch in mechanics, a loose nut or a cut wire here or there can cause the deficiency of 140 ton crane.
I would like to seize the chance here to advice all my dear friends to be careful with their steps: have a good look at where you are stepping, be extra careful when you walk on an uneven surface or up or down the stairs, wear high boots (like the one worn by basketball champs) when you work out, and if you have to carry anything heavy down the stairs, try to walk your way down reversely ...etc...
You must by now be saying something like : we've had enough of your injury..... don't worry ... I've emptied my pocket for the time being...I just want to wrap up by responding to your comments:
Abu Fares ya Abu Fares!
Indeed, what was I thinking? ... of course I've learned my lessons and I can even teach it now (just look at the above grunting!)
My Wisconsin friend Ali!
I had a feeling that this post was going to rile you into commenting, alhamdulilah mate, it's not serious...
The TV is safe and sound, in fact, and as far as entertainment is concerned, my survival was dependant upon this TV last week when I didn't go to work...and guess what; it is the same TV (remember?;))
(btw, how are the Melwakee Bugs doing these days? ;))
Thank you very much Inmotion (how have you been doing?) I lead a stable and quiet life in general, but that doesn't mean that things don't go off the course with recklessness every now and then...
Hi Kaya,
The TV is okay, and the Khanoum played hard to get at the first time (as expected) I thought I'd be able to get her phone number yesterday, but she seemed like 20 years older... I found out later that there was another nurse on duty ... this one wouldn't play hard to get for sure, but the thought didn't cross my mind at the time!
Thank you for your kind words dear friend...
3azizi Gray Fox, where have you been ya zalameh?... you have been missed... I hope life is treating you well...
The pain is awful indeed, but what is more consoling is the fact that it'll be over soon, during these couple of weeks, I never stopped thinking about those who have to suffer this kind of pain for long times... God bless them.... Allah be with them...
Dear Lujayn,
I can relate to your experience quite well, it must have been painful... an airport with the old fashion stairs? broken xray machine in two hospitals? where could that be? it must be the place that you call home and which is not Syria...;)
The house warming party will take place after Ramadan, and you are of course invited!
Thank you all dear friends, and now excuse me, I have to dodge my way out of this internet cafe on the crutches...

Alhamdu Lillah 3ala Salamtak. Be careful, being sick is contagious. You just inflicted me with another variant ;-)
DJ, I do remember the TV.. thank God you saved it. This is a proof that you still have your basketball skills, I believe it must have been one heck of a catch. But next time stay away from the stairs and use a ball!
As for our Bucks, the only luck they had last season was that Boston had the honor of being the worst team in the league instead of them.
However, the Brewers are competing well in Baseball, and the football season kicked off last week with a win to our glorious team "Green Bay Packers".
I'm sure that your family freaked out over the news of your accident, so you'd better be obeying the doctor until you get back to normal.
DJ - having sprained each ankle within the past 12mths, my only piece of advice is: be warned - your ankle(s) will be definitely weaker after the sprain. I was lucky & didn't have to wear a cast, just a strap on brace thingy, but every now & again, I can feel my ankle having a 'weak' day.
Here's hoping you are well on the road to recovery :-)
Hi Abu Fares, I heard that wires are contagious, but didn't know they have the option of alteration, it is probably the telepathy factor!
You better get well soon...(me as well)..
Thank you for passing by..
Ali ya Ali!
Of course they would have freaked out as hell, but the successful media blackout had paid off, nobody back home knows about it ...I didn't think that telling them was necessary...
I am impressed by how Americanized you've become, following the baseball, football and all... I am interested to know how would you fare in the other aspect of the culture...(if you know what I mean;)))
Thank you my dear friend, hope to see more of your comments in here...
Hi Jin
I am sorry you had to go through the same experience twice, it is not easy, and as said correctly, the ankle will be weaker after a sprain..
The irony is that I used to do the cardio for 30 minutes 5 times a week before the injury, and now after almost 3 weeks of recession, I feel very stagnant and weary as I lost my only mean of relieving stress...... I am eager to be able to run again...
Thank you for passing by!
Salamaaaaat DJ!
haven't been blogging for a few weeks but i'm sorry to hear about your injury.. may Ramadan bring you better healthy and eternal happiness :)
deer balak 3ala ijrak :P

Ramadan Kareem to you as well, hope you are doing fine, and let's now see your come-back post...
Regards....
Hello, Dubay Jazz!
Thanks for your work and have a good day
Hello, dearest Dubai Jazz! I'm so sorry to hear of your mishap! Sounds like something that would happen to me. :0)

I'm around ya DJ but not in the mood to do any posting.. i need a muse!
Hi David, thank you for passing by, you too have a good day...
Dearest Paige, it's been long time! I am eager to visit your blog and get an update of your smart writing and cute murals! I will do that as soon as I get a chance to dedicate enough time for it....
Hi Buj, how is al syam going with you?
walla david is a 'wanas' you know, he's always around and it is not so hard to predict what he's gonna say anyway!
you have not been writing much recently, were you on vacation or something?:)
hala DJ.. wallah siyam is ok (except the first day).. it was very hard.. with over 14 hrs of fasting one has very little time in the eating hours to eat enough to keep up with the energy demands for the day. i'm very un-arab in that i actually eat less in ramadan.
many times i've designed a beam or a foundation during the fasting hours only to check it the next day and find the design totally wrong.. it's not safe!!
however back in the days when i was in uni, ramadan iftar was at 4pm.. oh man.. i miss those days!
i've been quiet on the blog scene coz i been working long hours unfortunately.. yareit on holiday.. yareit.. i miss the home cooked food.
